Solar PV Feed In Tariff (FIT)
UPDATE: 5th Feb 2012
After deliberating since January 13, the Court of Appeal finally denied the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) a hearing for its appeal against the High Court's December ruling on UK solar feed-in tariffs. Since then the Govt have lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court.This means the CURRENT feed-in tariff is 21p, BUT will go back to 43.3p for <4kW systems installed until March 3rd, 2012 if this appeal is lost. The FIT rate has not been established post 31st March.
Below you will find a summary of the current FIT rates for PV installations to 31ST MARCH 2012:
Band (kW Total Installed Capacity - TIC) ............................. Tariff (p/ kWh)
* >4kW......................................................................... 21.0p/kWp
* >4 - 10kW....................................................................16.8p/kWp
* >10 - 50kW...................................................................15.2p/kWp
* >50 kW - 150 kW TIC ..................................................... 12.9p/ kWh
* >150 kW - 250 kW TIC .................................................... 12.9p/ kWh
* >250 kW - 5 MW TIC and stand-alone installations .................... 8.5p/ kWh
The scheme guarantees a minimum payment for all electricity generated by the system as well as a separate payment for the electricity exported to the grid. These payments are in addition to the bill savings made by using the electricity generated on-site.
